Resumo
Este artigo analisou a natureza interativa e envolvente dos jogos educacionais on-line, que ganharam notória atenção por terem se tornado um grande aliado no aprendizado de um novo idioma. Este estudo examinou a eficácia dos jogos educacionais on-line em relação ao aprimoramento do aprendizado de vocabulário no aprendizado de um idioma estrangeiro, com foco no uso da plataforma Educaplay. Portanto, este estudo explorou as percepções dos alunos, medindo a aquisição de vocabulário, e avaliou a influência na motivação e no envolvimento. Um projeto de métodos mistos explicativos sequenciais foi aplicado a pré e pós-testes, pesquisas e grupos de foco. Esse estudo envolveu dois grupos de foco de alunos do sétimo ano de EFL: o grupo experimental, que participou de atividades de vocabulário baseadas no Educaplay quatro vezes por semana durante oito semanas, e o grupo de controle, que seguiu uma abordagem tradicional de aprendizado de vocabulário. Os testes forneceram informações quantitativas para medir o progresso do vocabulário, enquanto as pesquisas e as discussões em grupo forneceram detalhes descritivos sobre as atitudes e os pensamentos dos alunos em relação ao uso de jogos on-line para aprender novas palavras. Os resultados enriquecerão a compreensão de como o Educaplay, como ferramenta digital, pode apoiar o desenvolvimento do vocabulário e incentivar experiências de aprendizagem positivas em contextos de EFL.
