Resumo
Após a pandemia, as salas de aula sofreram um declínio acentuado nos resultados de aprendizagem, coincidindo com o surgimento de um grupo de alunos e educadores mais experientes em tecnologia. Essa mudança motivou a busca por soluções digitais para melhorar o envolvimento dos alunos, e o Webtoon surgiu como uma opção de destaque. Particularmente popular entre a Geração Z, a interface simples e divertida do Webtoon, os diversos temas e as obras de arte cativantes levam os usuários a mergulhar em seus painéis durante o tempo livre. No estudo qualitativo a seguir, foram examinadas as perspectivas dos alunos do ensino médio da UEPSMA (Unidade Educativa Particular Salesianas María Auxiliadora) em Cuenca. Ao longo de três ciclos de pesquisa-ação usando métodos qualitativos, os participantes foram submetidos a três questionários espontâneos e concluíram com uma pesquisa final por meio do Google Forms. Os resultados indicaram que os alunos consideraram gratificantes as imagens e o uso da linguagem do Webtoon, atribuindo sua participação contínua a histórias interessantes e ilustrações vívidas. Além disso, suas respostas destacaram um sentimento de satisfação com a integração de uma ferramenta de leitura digital na sala de aula, o que reforçou significativamente sua motivação para a leitura em inglês.
