Resumo
As pesquisas existentes sugerem que os contos são uma experiência envolvente e imersiva que estimula ativamente a imaginação dos alunos de idiomas estrangeiros e promove seu interesse na aquisição de idiomas; eles também podem promover a empatia, o pensamento crítico e a criatividade, ferramentas essenciais para o desenvolvimento do idioma. Com a introdução de contos na sala de aula de idiomas, é possível apresentar uma grande variedade de narrativas, personagens e experiências interculturais. Esta pesquisa examina o aprimoramento e as percepções dos alunos de inglês como língua estrangeira (EFL) sobre a implementação de contos em suas aulas de inglês após um período de seis semanas de exposição a contos como estratégia de ensino-aprendizagem. Os resultados da pesquisa mostraram uma pequena diferença no aprimoramento linguístico dos alunos após a comparação dos resultados do pré e do pós-teste; no entanto, as percepções dos alunos sobre a implementação de contos podem fornecer insights para as salas de aula de inglês como uma forma de aprimorar as habilidades linguísticas dos alunos, promovendo a paixão pela leitura e estimulando o pensamento crítico.
