Resumo

Após a pandemia, notou-se uma perda palpável de aprendizado em sala de aula, enquanto surgiam alunos e professores mais tecnológicos. Isso nos levou a procurar estratégias digitais para manter os alunos envolvidos na sala de aula, e uma delas é o uso do Webtoon. O Webtoon vem ganhando muita atenção da Geração Z por causa de sua interface simples e divertida, além de ter diferentes gêneros, temas e painéis de imagens que podem incentivar os usuários a continuar lendo em seu tempo livre. No estudo qualitativo a seguir, analisamos as perspectivas dos alunos da escola de ensino médio UEPSMA (Unidad Educativa Particular Salesiana María Auxiliadora) em Cuenca. Usando três ciclos de pesquisa-ação com um método qualitativo, eles participaram de três questionários pop e de uma pesquisa final no Google Forms no final do terceiro ciclo. Os resultados mostraram que os alunos consideraram as ilustrações e o vocabulário da Webtoon satisfatórios e continuaram lendo graças ao enredo e às ilustrações da Webtoon. Além disso, suas respostas às perguntas abertas destacaram como a maioria deles estava feliz em usar uma ferramenta de leitura digital na sala de aula, o que aumentou sua motivação para ler em inglês.
