Resumo
A resistência aeróbica em escolares é fundamental para a saúde cardiovascular e a prevenção de doenças crônicas. Na Educação Física, a gamificação pode aumentar a motivação e a participação, favorecendo adaptações fisiológicas. Determinar o efeito de um programa de Educação Física baseado em gamificação sobre a resistência aeróbica (VO?máx estimado) em escolares de 11 a 12 anos, comparando um grupo experimental e um grupo controle. Estudo quantitativo, longitudinal, quase-experimental do tipo pré-teste e pós-teste com grupo controle. A alocação foi por conglomerados (turmas). Participaram 49 escolares (GE: n=25; GC: n=24). A resistência aeróbica foi avaliada por meio do teste de Course Navette, estimando o VO?máx antes e após uma intervenção de 8 semanas (3 sessões/semana). O GE apresentou maior melhora no VO?máx estimado em relação ao GC (?GE=2,6±2,0 vs ?GC=0,4±1,9 ml/kg/min), com diferença das mudanças de 2,2 ml/kg/min (IC95%: 1,08–3,32; p<0,001) e tamanho de efeito grande (d=1,13). Além disso, observou-se no GE um deslocamento para categorias superiores de capacidade aeróbica, com diminuição acentuada dos níveis baixos. A gamificação aplicada na Educação Física melhora significativamente a resistência aeróbica em escolares, aumentando a participação e favorecendo hábitos saudáveis desde idades precoces.
