Critical notes on financialization in The time of the invested, a reading from Georg Lukács

Abstract

The book The time of the invested by Michel Feher presents a theoretical exposition of financialization that, although it has empirical support in today’s capitalist society, it is necessary to submit to the critique of the marxist method, which, in the opinion of Georg Lukács, is to take on the perspective of the materialist dialectic, namely, to appropriate reality under the immanence of its causes as an organic totality. Through this, it is possible to reflect on the author’s proposal, which goes beyond the mere theoretical dimension and advances towards a practical proposal.
